  Note: these installer packages must be downloaded to, and run on, a Microsoft Windows computer, not on the Windows CE target system.

  Note: although Casio BE-300 claims to be running Windows CE 3.0 it does not implement some of Windows 3.0 API. Try using the Palm Size PC version below instead. (NetHack on the BE-300 should be considered experimental - please let us know of your experiences with it.)

  We have heard that this binary:

  • works on Samsung SCH-I600
  • works on Verizon XV6700 running Windows Mobile 5
  • will NOT work on XV6800 - it uses a CPU we don't have a version for
  • works on HTC running Windows Mobile 5
  • works on HTC Touch diamond (but you must use the CAB package listed below)
  • works on HTC Touch Pro (Verizon XV6850) - use the CAB package below
  • works on ASUS MyPal A626 Pocket PC (Win Mobile 6.0)

  • works on Orange HTC Touch Diamond

• Step 2: unpack.

  • 2a. If you have a previous version of NetHack installed, you will need to uninstall the old version before installing the new version (the installer won't upgrade 3.4.2 in place since they have different application names: "Nethack 3.4.3 For PocketPC" vs "Nethack 3.4.2 For PocketPC").
    After uninstalling 3.4.2, you can copy any saved games manually. The default installation folder for 3.4.2 is \Program Files\NetHack-342. Default installation folder for 3.4.3 is \Program Files\NetHack-343
  • 2b. Run the installer package and follow on-screen instructions.

• Step 3: run.

  A shortcut to NetHack will be created in the Games folder on the device.
